Municipal Natural Park Chico Mendes

With 44 hectares and almost 5km of trails, the park located in the neighborhood of Recreio dos Bandeirantes was created in 1989 with the objective of preserving the Lagoinha das Tachas and its surroundings, as well as the animals and plants in the region.
One of the main residents, the yellow-breasted caiman is threatened with extinction due to the destruction of its natural habitat, and the park's lagoon is one of the few refuges for the species. Other rare animals found are the caboclinho bird, the marreca-toucinho and the tuiê-sangue.In addition to the contact with nature, the park also has a play area for children, places to picnic and trails for walking and running.
