Chinese Viewpoint (Vista Chinesa)
Tijuca’s National Park is divided into three visiting sections - Forest, Serra da Carioca e Pedra Bonita/Pedra da Gávea - and offers activities options for everyone, from picnic and barbecue area to hang gliding, climbing, trail, and others. Between the most famous postal cards of the country, it has the Corcovado, where’s placed the Cristo Redentor (one of the new seven wonders of the world), Pedra da Gávea, Vista Chinesa (Chinese Viewpoint), Lage Park, Paineiras, and Dona Marta Viewpoint. The Horto Waterfalls and Transcarioca Trail, all presented in our catalog, are also relevant attractive points of this location.
The famous observatory from Vista Chinesa was built between 1902 and 1906. The pagoda in oriental style makes a reference in honor to the Chinese that brought the tea culture to Brazil at the beginning of the 19th Century. It’s an important touristic spot in the city, in the Horto region, from where unveils a stunning view to all the south zone of the city.
