Choreographic Center of Rio de Janeiro
The Choreographic Center of Rio de Janeiro was inaugurated in 2004, being the first in Latin America. With approximately 4,000m², the Center was designed for the creation, production, development, exchange, study, presentation, documentation, memory, and dissemination of dance. Located in the Tijuca neighborhood, in a former brewery listed as a municipal historical heritage, it was designed, restored, and adapted to meet the needs and particularities of dance.
The facility features the Angel Vianna Theater (a tribute to one of the most important Brazilian dance artists), 2 studios, and 01 Loft for artistic residences, open rehearsals, small-scale performances, and workshops. It also includes a gallery, conference/video room, media library, and 03 apartments (accommodating a total of 12 guests) to host dance artists who are participating in artistic residencies or performing at the Choreographic Center.
