Located in a busy region of the city's West Zone, Bosque da Barra (Barra Woods) covers 50 hectares. The park was created aiming at environmental preservation, especially of the restinga vegetation, the natural landscape and the local fauna.
The great variety of fauna makes the place ideal for observing birds, butterflies, capybaras, marmosets and the sloth, in addition to the yellow-capped caimans that can be seen in the lakes. The tree-lined avenues are great for jogging and walking. The large grassy areas are ideal for picnics and recreational activities. The grove also has parking, toys, and exercise equipment.
