Municipal Theater – Spectacles Room

Inaugurated in 1909, the Teatro Municipal (Municipal Theatre) is one of the main show houses of Brazil and Latin America. Currently, it got a big reform, where gems like a large original panel of the Italian Eliseu Visconti was rescued. Important areas of it was restored, with a highlight to the impressive eagle of 350kg that garnishes the construction top, it earned 8 thousand gold papers 23 karats of gilding. Its design was inspired on the Paris Opera.
The spectacles room is the theater's main attractionr, with 2.300 seats, the stage is equipped with linoleum, scenic poles and an orchestra pit.
