Parque Lage – Corcovado Trail (Trilha Parque Lage – Corcovado)
Tijuca’s National Park is divided into three visiting sections - Forest, Serra da Carioca e Pedra Bonita/Pedra da Gávea - and offers activities options for everyone, from picnic and barbecue area to hang gliding, climbing, trail, and others. Between the most famous postal cards of the country, it has the Corcovado, where’s placed the Cristo Redentor (one of the new seven wonders of the world), Pedra da Gávea, Vista Chinesa (Chinese Viewpoint), Lage Park, Paineiras, and Dona Marta Viewpoint. The Horto Waterfalls and Transcarioca Trail, all presented in our catalog, are also relevant attractive points of this location.
The Parque Lage-Corcovado Trail starts at Parque Lage and takes the visitor to Corcovado passing through the Paineiras. After the walk, at the top of the mountain, Cristo Redentor can be contemplated. This trail is not recommended to beginners, the route of about 4 hours has steep stretches and its end has a lot of vans passing by. When the route meets the train tracks, the walker cannot walk on parallel to it or rest in this point, for security matters.
