MPC Filmes – Meios de Produção e Comunicação
With 40 years of experience in the audiovisual market, MPC is a production company that focuses on building international relations. Conceived by producer and director Alberto Graça and with Luciana Boal Marinho as a partner, MPC has already produced 6 fictional feature films, in addition to more than 50 documentaries for the national and European market in co-production with channels such as France Télévisions, ARTE, RTP, BBC, Canal + and NHK, and production companies such as Gaumont Internacional, KRE, Mano a Mano and Filmes do Tejo II.
Among his achievements are “Memórias do Medo” (1981) - official selection at the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes/France - and “O Dia da Caça” (2000), both by Alberto Graça; the documentary “500 - Os Bebês Roubados Pela Ditadura Argentina” (2015), by Alexandre Valenti, winner of the Gold Medal at the 26th Edition of FIPADOC - Biarritz International Festival of Audiovisuel Programs; and the drama “Yvone Kane” (2017), by Portuguese director Margarida Cardoso, with Irene Ravache, which won Beatriz Batarda the Best Actress award at the 18th Luso Brasileiro Festival.
His most recent releases include the comedy “A Esperança é a Última Que Dies” (2015), directed by Calvito Leal; “Histórias da Fome no Brasil” (2017), directed by Camilo Tavares, which has the support of FAO, WFP - World Food Program, Citizenship Action and IBASE - Brazilian Institute of Social and Economic Analysis; “Tente Entender o Que Tento Dizer” (2019), by Emília Silveira, Audience Award for best documentary at the 8th Agenda Brasil-Milan; “Beatriz” (2019), directed by Alberto Graça, with Marjorie Estiano and Sergio Guizé, official selection at the Première Brasil of the 17th Festival in Rio; and “Vidas Descartáveis” (2021), made in co-production with GloboNews and Globo Filmes, winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 23rd Cine PE.
It produces, among other projects, the comedy “Orlando-Flórida” in partnership with Universal Pictures, Globo Filmes and H2O, with filming scheduled for 2022/2, and prepares the release of the documentary “Nunca Mais Serei a Mesma”, with the support of of UN Women and directed by Alice Lanari.
