Outubro Filmes is a small production company run by Quézia Lopes, Director, Screenwriter and Producer; Master's student in Cinema and Audiovisual at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF); Bachelor in Cinema and Audiovisual at the same institution (UFF); and Bachelor in Social Communication at UERJ. October Films has been producing in the independent audiovisual scene, especially short films, as well as VOD content, and providing Production, Directing and Audiovisual Screenwriting services since 2015. For the end of 2022/2023, it is preparing its first feature film, the documentary "Invisible Bodies", which is in the post production/finishing phase. The project was sponsored by Coca-cola Brazil and the Coca-cola Institute, and was one of the proposals selected by the "Negras Potências" edict from Baobá Fund and Benfeitoria. The documentary addresses the social invisibility of black female bodies, interspersing interviews with black women and artistic and poetic performances by black artists. The producer has two other fiction projects in development, titled "All in Me" and "These intimate shadows, so mine."
In 2019, she directed the short film "Lia" (2019), which is circulating through national and international festivals, with Direction, Screenplay and Executive Production by Quézia Lopes. She also signs the Direction, Screenplay and Editing of the short film "Noite em mim, noite lá fora" (2017), which went through more than 20 festivals, competitive exhibitions, exhibitions and was nominated for awards. She also signs the Script, Direction and Editing of the short film "Toda palavra é crueldade" (2017), screened in national exhibitions and film clubs; Script and Direction of the short film "Sentença" (2013); among others. She was also Director, Writer and Editor of the short film "Tudo será difícil de dizer" (in finalization), which deals with autism from an inclusive perspective; Producer of the short film "Parresía", which addresses the concept of parresía as an ethics of life from the ways of being of young people with Down Syndrome. Production Director and Executive Producer of the short film "Maw, are you a lesbian?" In Directing Assistance, she debuted in the documentary "Mother Water", recorded in 2011. All of these films, with the exception of the last two, were produced by Outubro Filmes.
