Thiago Moyses
Dividing works in Brazil, Europe and USA, Thiago Moyses, graduated in Cinema at UnB, works as Animator, VFX Designer, Scriptwriter and Editor, as well as Author of original content, also acting as Director of his projects and writer of books, such as "Hopekillers" of horror and fantasy, published as a book by Pergunta Fixar and distributed as a film by O2 Play. Thiago also directed and animated the short film "Kcrisis", where he introduced a new technique of rotoscopy mixed with traditional animation, selected in festivals in Brazil and France. Worked with Henry Preston, from the elite team of Industrial Light and Magic, in the creation of visual effects for the Brazilian feature film "A Última Estação", directed by Márcio Cury. He worked on other projects doing special effects and visual effects for shorts, features and pilot projects in Germany, Brazil and the United States.
His feature film "Sindrome de Pinocchio" was one of the ten films pre-selected in Brazil to represent the country in the competition for the 82nd Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, it was also selected for the São Paulo International Film Festival and the Filme B Festival in Santiago, Chile. In 2015, Thiago worked as a scriptwriter and content creator for Bananeira Filmes' Creative Core, developing an animated TV series.
He is currently a professor of Special Effects at the Visual Effects Course at the Catalyst-Berlin Arts Faculty in Berlin, and a professor of Screenwriting for Cinema at the Temacorp platform, connected to the Celso Lisboa University in Rio de Janeiro.
Completing part of his experience, he has directed more than ten short films and five feature films. His feature film "Z.A.N." was selected at the STUFF Film Festival in Mexico, Rio Fantastik Festival and distributed in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan, available on streaming at Amazon Prime Video and on DVD at Amazon. Other short films have also been released internationally, as well as festival participation, such as "Down Earth", his first short film shot in Berlin, selected at the Shockfest festival in the US. His latest feature film, "Hopekillers", participated in Mostra Guerrilha at the Festival de Brasília do Cinema Brasileiro in 2019, was selected at the Shockfest festival in 2021 and is available on the main streaming platforms in Brazil.
