Urca Filmes
In the market for almost 20 years, Urca Filmes is an independent production company with a diversified portfolio that includes fiction films, documentaries and serialized products. Created by Leonardo Edde and Eduardo Albergaria, the production company aims to strengthen Brazilian cultural identity through a rigorous selection of thematic productions that seek to combine narrative and aesthetic virtues, communication potential, production value and reflections about Brazil. With this strategy, Urca Filmes has consolidated a strong presence in TV, creating and producing series such as "Sebastiana Quebra-Galho", "Globo Ciência", "Tira Onda", "De Cara Limpa", "Sangue Latino", "Estúdio 66", "Classicomaníaco", among others. In the movie business, the production company has released titles not only in Brazil but also in the international market of movie theaters and important festivals, among which we highlight: "Soy Cuba: The Siberian Mammoth" (Chicago and Locarno), "O engenho de Zé Lins" (Toulouse), "Diário de Sintra" (Tribeca), "Desafinados" (Guadalajara), "Happy Hour" (Rio Film Festival), and "Amazônia Groove" (SXSW).
The production company has also produced, in co-production or as executive producer, films such as "Tropa de Elite 2" (directed by José Padilha), "Os Desafinados" (directed by Walter Lima Júnior) and "O Filme da Minha Vida" (directed by Selton Mello).
In 2021, Urca Filmes is producing the documentary "PRK 30", about the most popular program in the history of Brazilian radio, the feature film "Nosso Sonho", a film biography of the musical duo Claudinho e Buchecha, the series "Alucinação", freely inspired in the life of singer Belchior, and the animation "Authentic Games - against the Kingdom of the Page Not Found", starring youtuber Marco Tulio. In addition, numerous audiovisual projects are in development, worked on within the Creative Nucleus organized by the production company and led by its partners.
